John H. Marling
Chairman

In a real estate career spanning forty years, Mr. Marling has functioned as a national real estate consultant, as well as an investor and developer in the Chicago and Florida markets. Today, located in Orlando, FL, he has primary responsibility for the identification and structuring of real estate projects for Investors’ Realty, the Village Partner Companies, and a select group of real estate clients. His career began in consulting, receiving his MAI in 1974, after which he went on to start a national real estate consulting practice with his brother Jules, where he expanded their activities into commercial development first in the Chicago area and later in Florida. This company became a full service real estate operation with the acquisition of the Sudler Company in 1985, adding over 150 million annually in residential sales as well as the management of over 10,000 residential condominiums, including such landmark properties as the John Hancock Tower and Water Tower Place. Mr. Marling received his BA degree from Hamilton College and is a licensed Florida real estate broker.


Heidi J. Marling
President

Ms. Marling is President and the owner of Investors' Realty, which holds a 50% ownership interest in all Village Partners Companies and its properties with Philadelphia based James S. Carr, AIA. This group of companies has completed $958,000,000 in transactions and built and developed over 4,220 multi-family units in Florida for clients, investors and its own account. Prior to co-founding Investors’ Realty, Ms. Marling was executive vice-president for the southeastern division of Sudler Marling Inc., a Chicago full service real estate firm. Ms. Marling headed the sales, marketing and management of its commercial portfolio of office and retail properties. Ms. Marling began her career with Continental Illinois bank in the Asian division overseeing commercial banking activities in Japan and Korea. In 1978, Ms. Marling transferred to the real estate division of the bank with a portfolio in excess of $250 million in the southeastern United States. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BS in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance. Ms. Marling is a Florida Licensed Real Estate and Mortgage Broker.


James V. Johnson, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Johnson is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for the Investors’ Realty and Village Partners Group of companies. Mr. Johnson was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Tropical Village, Inc., a real estate development firm in Orlando, Florida. He has over eight years experience in the real estate industry. He began his career in the international accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche in the healthcare audit division. Mr. Johnson received his BS in Accounting from The University of Maryland and a Masters of Business Taxation from The University of Minnesota. He also holds active licenses as a Florida Certified Pubic Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Forensic Accountant.


David Novakoski
Vice President of Construction Management

Mr. Novakoski heads the Village Partners construction management division, and is responsible for construction management, maintenance, rehabilitation and preservation of all company real estate assets. Mr. Novakoski brings to Village Partners, a wide range of development and construction experience, earned over 25 years with such companies as Lincoln Property Company, The Hogan Group, and his own firm Novak & Company, for which he provided construction management services to the InterContinental Hotel Group and Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA). His vast knowledge of design and construction of office buildings, hotels, apartments, condominiums, and retail centers is a great asset to Village Partners. Mr. Novakoski is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a B.S. degree in Business Administration as well as an A.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Manatee Community College. Mr. Novakoski is also a Florida licensed real estate broker.


Ed Thompson
Manager Village Partners Development Services

Mr. Thompson oversees the due diligence, design and entitlement process on Village Partners land investments and new developments. He also assists in acquisitions and the underwriting process for all new investments. Mr. Thompson has ten years of real estate development experience. He spent the first 8 years of his career in civil engineering as a site designer on a wide range of development projects including: single and multi-family, retail, professional office, and industrial. Prior to joining Village Partners, Ed worked at Tarragon Corporation, a NYSE multi-family developer and property manager. Mr. Thompson graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Urban Planning. He has completed post-graduate work in Construction Management at the University of Florida.


Mike Wilson
Comptroller

Mr. Wilson is the Comptroller for all income producing properties and head of human resource functions for our companies. He has sixteen years of experience as an accountant in hospitality, residential and commercial real estate, as well as development, acquisition, and property management experience. Prior to relocating to Central FL, Mr. Wilson worked in Washington, DC for Weichert Realtors, the Nation’s largest privately owned real estate firm, Montgomery Village Foundation, a large HOA management company, and Lowe Enterprises. Mr. Wilson attended Fairmont State University in West Virginia.


Dana Drake
Corporate Management Services & Partner in Village Residences, Inc. For the past 11 years

For the past 11 years Ms. Drake has been Village Partner’s leading apartment leasing and management executive. While working with the company, she identified a strong demand in the corporate rental market and created a business plan for "Village Residences," a furnished short term corporate rental company. Since that time, she has made this Company a success and is now dedicated to its continued growth and expansion. Her successful marketing and promotion of Village Residences has proven to be an excellent compliment to our residential services. Previously, Ms. Drake worked in the multifamily industry for fifteen years, beginning her career with Property Asset Management and continuing with The Aspen Group, Owner's Property Management, and Pinnacle Management.


Gina Roman
Village Residences, Inc. Operations Manager

Ms. Roman joined the company in 2003 as Operations Manager for Village Residences and assistant to Dana Drake. As operations manager, Ms. Roman is in charge of client services and collections and functions as the liaison for all furnished housing units. She brings to the company over 9 years in hospitality management including resident services, resort management, and guest services in the Orlando area. Ms Roman attended the New York City Housing Authority school of business. Her previous experience within the Orlando Housing Authority and the Time Share Communities, Inc. has helped Village Residences build a solid foundation with its furnished housing clientele.


Yolanda Buckner
Executive Assistant

Ms. Buckner joined the company in 2008. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Florida A&M University where she majored in Political Science and minored in English. Prior to joining the company, Ms. Buckner worked as an eligibility specialist for Orlando Housing Authority and as a law clerk for Lynum and Sanchez, P.A.

Formerly a senior partner of the nationally recognized architectural firm The Martin Organization, Mr. Carr has worked extensively with homebuilders and developers throughout the U.S. on over 160,000 residential units. As a co-owner of Village Partners, Mr. Carr has developed over 4,220 multi-family units in Florida for clients, investors, and his own account. Over a thirty plus year career, his main focus has been on multi-family communities and mixed-use developments. Mr. Carr received his BA in Architecture and Master of Arts in City Planning from Drexel University. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Association of Home Builders. He is a Director of Alliance Bank in Springfield, PA.


Jules H. Marling MAI, CRE
Partner and Executive Vice President,
Real Estate Research Corporation

Jules Marling serves as partner and executive Vice President of Real Estate Research Corporation (RERC). Along with Ken Riggs, he directs the firm's consulting and development activities. Mr. Marling also directs the firm's investment activities, recently involving the repositioning of multifamily apartments and properties. He initially formed The Marling Group with his brother John Marling in 1973, and he later acquired Sudler and Company, which was renamed Sudler Marling, Inc. in 1985. He served as chairman of the company, which managed about 10,000 multifamily units and had about $150 million per year in residential sales. In 1992, he left that organization to form Property Counselors, which later merged with RERC in 1999. Mr. Marling received his BA degree from Dartmouth College with Phi Beta Kappa honors and his MBA from Columbia University.
